Madrid City Council, through Volunteers For Madrid Foundation, has signed a cooperation agreement with BNP Paribas to implement an integration project through art, that will last 3 years.
- BNP Paribas Foundation, through its European programme “Smart Start”, aimed at promoting the integration of socially excluded young people through the practice of an art, has chosen this project in Spain led by Volunteers For Madrid Foundation.
- Volunteers from BNP Paribas will participate in monthly workshops to support the kids in the creation of films based in the values selected by the 8 social organizations.
- The project will beneficiate around 600 children socially excluded in Madrid and, at least, 80 volunteers from BNP Paribas will attend the activities.
- The 8 values that will be developed during the first year will be: solidarity, self-improvement, the value of the others, confidence, respect and tolerance, friendship, commitment and generosity.
BNP Paribas and Madrid City Council have signed a collaboration agreement that launches the project ‘Human Values, a cinema experience’, an initiative that will be developed through Volunteers For Madrid Foundation and with the collaboration of 8 social organizations from Madrid.
The project, that that will last 3 years, aims at working about human values with young people and children in social disadvantage in Madrid, using the cinema as a way for awareness, education and knowledge transfer. Each month the activities will be focused on a concrete value and the participants will cooperate, together with the volunteers from BNP Paribas, in the creation of a film piece (a short film, an advertisement, News, etc.) based on the value.
From October to May, the children and teenagers of Barró Association, Norte Joven Association, Valdeperales Association, Raíces Foundation, Fray Escoba Association, Torre de Hortaleza Association, Pinardi Federation and Tomillo Foundation will work with the values solidarity, self-improvement, the value of the others, confidence, respect and tolerance, friendship, commitment and generosity. In June 2013 a unique film will be shown, including the 8 film pieces made by the children and volunteers and based on the chosen values.
The workshops will be held Friday afternoons, and, before that, to start inspiring, volunteers and participants will watch a real film showing the selected value in the cinemas Dreams Palacio de Hielo. The following Friday of the month, they will work on the script, the creation of the piece and on the recording. It is foreseen the collaboration of, at least, 80 volunteers in the development of the initiative.
The BNP Paribas Foundation is launching, for the first time, a European-wide sponsorship programme aimed at promoting the integration of socially excluded young people through the practice of an art. In Spain, Volunteers For Madrid Foundation presented the project ‘Human Values, a cinema experience’ and it was approved by the BNP Paribas Foundation.
