Cetelem‘s system for detecting customers in difficulty was rewarded on 16 October in Paris by the professional association Efma and Accenture, setting it apart from 157 participating banks from 54 countries.
Since 2010, Cetelem has tested and deployed across France a statistics tool combined with a relational program for detecting the “potential” difficulties of customers, even when they are paying back their loans without a problem. The customers identified benefit from an in-depth diagnostic and received proposals from the company’s advisers to find a solution to their problem.
On the basis of this experience, the Moscovici banking regulation Act voted in July 2013 provides for the standardisation of an early detection procedure and a support system for customers of all financial institutions facing financial difficulties.
Nearly 330 applications were submitted for the banking innovation awards.
