MISSION

 

From the 19 European branches of BNP Paribas CIB, there are 15 countries (Netherlands, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany-Austria and Belgium) whose local IT activity is managed by CIB IT Spain. The others locations keeps a local IT teams  (UK, Russia, Italy, Luxembourg).

 

CIB IT Spain is responsible for providing ADM (Application Development and Maintenance) and APS (Application Production Support) services to its internal clients. Its main responsibility is the planning and execution of BAU activities, initiatives and projects for all local BNPP applications within the European territories, delivering those with the respect of CIB IT rules, regulatory standards and compliance guidelines, implementing the overall strategy of CIB IT Clusters for developing and technology initiatives.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead and manage multiple IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline, taking an end to end responsibility on the different steps of IT Governance procedures for projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • Sólido conocimiento técnico y normativo.

What you can expect:

The intern, within the M&A European Advisory Team, will support in the following activities:

  • Transaction origination, including market selection, investment opportunity analysis, database management, and support in preparing client presentations. 
  • Company valuation, including assistance in conducting valuation analyses of specific companies using the most common valuation methodologies (DCF, transaction multiples, trading multiples)

The Due Diligence Officer directly reports to the KYC Manager of the Madrid KYC Hub and ultimately to the Head of KYC – Madrid Hub.

As a Due Diligence Officer in the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division, you will play a critical role in evaluating and mitigating risks associated with business transactions. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough due diligence on potential and existing clients, counterparties, and transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies of BNP Paribas.

The Due Diligence Officer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including relationship managers, legal teams, and compliance officers, to facilitate informed decision-making and maintain the integrity of the bank’s operations as well as, safeguard against potential risks.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and key concepts of the function (KYC).

RESPONSABILITIES

1.      Conduct Comprehensive Due Diligence:
* Perform KYCs on new customers, recertification of existing customers and off-boarding,
* Analyse financial statements, legal documents, and other relevant information to assess risk factors including the identification of the Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs),
* Conduct comprehensive due diligence on new and existing clients, counterparties, and transactions to assess potential risks, 
* Monitor the follow-up elements, especially those related to documentation,
* Comply with and follow up on (international) regulatory requirements, such as the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), AEOI (CRS) and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), 
* Ensure entry of the name of the customers and of the beneficial owners/directors and other representatives on the various databases; perform the relevant Background checks in accordance with Policy,
* Review embargoes, Vigilance to detect PEPs, and utilize other databases according to the local practice,
* Is responsible for the execution of individual tasks

2.      Risk Assessment:
* Evaluate the findings of due diligence investigations to assess potential risks and provide actionable recommendations to management,
* Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that due diligence processes align with industry regulations and company policies,
* Identify and assess risks associated with specific transactions and propose risk mitigation strategies

3.      Documentation and Reporting:
* Prepare detailed and accurate due diligence reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders,
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of due diligence activities, ensuring compliance with record-keeping policies,
* Update and monitor the status of all files in the corresponding tools (SharePoint, JIRA, etc.) assuring that it is accurate daily,
* Report KPIs, 
* Prepare and record-keep minutes of the team meetings

4.      Training:
* Train newcomers with any policy or procedure updates; including performing gap-analysis, documentation collection, KYC assembly in FENERGO, Screening and Investigator,
* Assures and provide training in the different tools and applications currently used by the Madrid KYC Hub when required

5.      Communication and Collaboration:
* Work closely with relationship managers, legal teams, and other internal stakeholders to gather necessary valid information and ensure a coordinated understanding and approach to due diligence,
* Communicate due diligence findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams, including senior management,

AIR Tech team  

Our AIR Tech team (Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Technology for RISK and Compliance) is here to drive the bank’s digital transformation through the development of strategies and recommendations based on advanced analytical methods.   

Within the RISK and Compliance functions, AIR Tech is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) expert team in charge of developing Artificial Intelligence solutions for RISK and Compliance Streams and beyond.  

Role responsibilities 

As an ML (Machine Learning) Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in deploying AI models that drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. The ML Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning and other AI models into the business processes and provide technical support to ensure the success of AI initiatives. 

Within our team of c.35 people, you will support Data Scientists and contribute to industrializing the analysis and modelling of structured and unstructured data. You will also contribute to the architecture design of the solution for your project. And you will participate in the team effort in building tools and frameworks to improve efficiency with a focus on delivering high standard code and models.   

You will also be involved in the MLOps activities, especially in deploying and monitoring our ML models in production. You will work closely with Data Scientists to define and operate an AI model lifecycle and to ensure the optimal performance of our portfolio of models.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Integration of machine learning models into business processes, ensuring smooth deployment and effective performance. 
  • Full stack development (front-end/back-end) and architecture design for projects but also development of some API based on common data processing needs 
  • Technical support for Data Scientists in terms of ensuring proper code structuring and better automation of workflows 
  • Technology monitoring on artificial intelligence topic (for instance review of internal or external solutions 

Beyond projects, ML Engineers are expected to share their expertise at multiple levels: within the team though technical sharing sessions and beyond as well during our regular open discussion sessions on AI. 

  

Technical Skills and Qualifications 
 

  • Expertise: Python (mandatory), SQL, Elastic search, Docker, Devops and MLops methodology, Angular, JavaScript, SQL, Apache, React, Django, Java.  
  • Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or related field. 
  • Skills: experience as software engineer/ data analytics engineer in an agile, innovation-oriented team is appreciated preferably with at least one of the following skills: 
    In particular Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes, or building, deploying, and monitoring ML/GenAi models in production using tools such as MLFlow and Kubeflow.

MISSION

  • Business Area/Department Overview
    • The current application production support is based in Madrid for Global Banking European local application support and maintains over 260 applications for a wide variety of internal clients for BNP Paribas CIB (Corporate & Institutional Banking), utilizing various technologies. The team also assist end users and provide a good quality of service, security, monitoring and reporting through both on Technical and Functional support.
    • Members of the team work with a wide variety of core technologies, in-house and third-party systems and they are expected to pick up skills in many other technologies, through mentoring, internal and external training. 

Purpose & Scope of the role

In line with the overall BNP Paribas sourcing strategy, this role will be in Spain as part of a Madrid based team.

The role is also to ensure a high-quality level of services for all these applications and their users. It includes involvement in:

    • Application Production Support

–        Provide technical and functional support to users on internal or 3rd party European applications 

–        Manage technical and functional incidents and problems

–        Testing and cross checks

–        Interact with IT Production & ICP Support Teams

    • Knowledge Transfer:
