MISSION

The Financial Statements analyst deploys operationally the regulation and normative instructions on his/her operational scope.

Based on the data delivered by the Finance SMS, he/she produces the reporting, specific analysis and ad-hoc requests.

He/she ensures quarterly production of his/her scope of entities reporting for BNPP’s financial statements consolidation, and answer to ad hoc requests from Group and external Auditors or other stakeholders supervised by his/her TL. He/she ensures on time and accurate different pack of financial and regulatory reporting related to his/her stream.

He/she participates to actions plans to solve data quality issues. He/she participates into new projects inquiries (regulatory and other).

ACTIVITIES

Performs reconciliations to ensure consistency of data with accounting source.

Performs overall controls and analytical review, as any other relevant analysis.

Contributes to projects by providing expertise on reporting issues.

MISSION
 

Within the BNP Paribas Group, RISK is responsible for the management, in compliance with BNP Paribas risks tolerance and the supporting policies and procedures, of the operational and regulatory risks caused by, or related to, its activity. A permanent control framework, relying on three lines of defense, guaranties the proper exercise of such responsibility.

 

RISK (1LoD) relies mostly on its RISK Chief Conduct & Control Officer (RISK CCCO) and the network of identified Operational Permanent Control (OPC) coordinators spread across the different streams of the RISK function. 

 

The RISK CCCO coordinates, as LoD1 and in line with the RISK OPC community, the ORM framework related to all operational risks, excluding financial risks. It includes Fraud, Third Party, Data Protection, Conduct, Compliance, Regulatory, Information & Cyber security risks, and others risks types in collaboration with other specialized independent control functions and in compliance with internal policies, procedures and guidelines issued by independent control functions as well as with external regulatory and supervisory requirements. For this mission, the RISK CCCO´s scope of action is RISK.

 

The RISK Global Operational Permanent Control team will ensure alignment with Group’s Operational Risk Management Framework, provide guidelines and awareness to the RISK OPC community, and ensure alignment of the risk assessments performed by all RISK teams.

 

The RISK GOPC trainee will be part of the RISK GOPC team.

 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 

The RISK GOPC trainee has the responsibility to support on (i) ensuring alignment with Group’s Operational Risk Management Framework, (ii) providing guidelines and awareness to the RISK OPC community, and (iii) ensure alignment of the risk assessments performed by all RISK teams.

  

This includes the following key responsibilities: 

  

1. Implementation of the operational risk management framework across RISK function

 

The RISK GOPC trainee will have to:

 

  • Understand how operational risk framework is implemented within BNP Paribas Group;
  • Support on the comprehensiveness and consistency of the LoD1 of the RISK function; and
  • Support the effective coordination with the RISK LoD2 (second line of defense for the RISK function).

 

2. Support the Third-Party Risk Management coordination across the RISK function.

 

Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) is the risk of having an activity performed by a third party. TPRM is covered by the RISK Outsourcing Coordinator, who is part of the RISK CCCO team.

 

The RISK GOPC trainee will have to:

 

  • Support the RISK Outsourcing Coordinator on its mandate (coordination of contracts, risk assessments, attending important meetings);
  • Ensure the arrangements are properly created in the operational risk tool with the needed data quality;
  • Support the creation and coordination of the RISK Outsourcing Framework.

  

3. Support on transversal or ad-hoc projects

 

The RISK GOPC trainee will have to:

 

  • Support to ad hoc projects (for example, Steering Committees or improvements on the operational risk tools;
  • Support the coordinator in other projects, mainly in the TPRM part.

 The Due Diligence Officer directly reports to the KYC Manager of the Madrid KYC Hub and ultimately to the Head of KYC – Madrid Hub.

As a Due Diligence Officer in the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division, you will play a critical role in evaluating and mitigating risks associated with business transactions. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough due diligence on potential and existing clients, counterparties, and transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies of BNP Paribas.

The Due Diligence Officer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including relationship managers, legal teams, and compliance officers, to facilitate informed decision-making and maintain the integrity of the bank’s operations as well as, safeguard against potential risks.

 The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and key concepts of the function (KYC).

RESPONSABILITIES

 1.      Conduct Comprehensive Due Diligence:
* Perform KYCs on new customers, recertification of existing customers and off-boarding,
* Analyse financial statements, legal documents, and other relevant information to assess risk factors including the identification of the Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs),
* Conduct comprehensive due diligence on new and existing clients, counterparties, and transactions to assess potential risks,
* Monitor the follow-up elements, especially those related to documentation,
* Comply with and follow up on (international) regulatory requirements, such as the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), AEOI (CRS) and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID),
* Ensure entry of the name of the customers and of the beneficial owners/directors and other representatives on the various databases; perform the relevant Background checks in accordance with Policy,
* Review embargoes, Vigilance to detect PEPs, and utilize other databases according to the local practice,
* Is responsible for the execution of individual tasks

 2.      Risk Assessment:
* Evaluate the findings of due diligence investigations to assess potential risks and provide actionable recommendations to management,
* Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that due diligence processes align with industry regulations and company policies,
* Identify and assess risks associated with specific transactions and propose risk mitigation strategies

 3.      Documentation and Reporting:
* Prepare detailed and accurate due diligence reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders,
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of due diligence activities, ensuring compliance with record-keeping policies,
* Update and monitor the status of all files in the corresponding tools (SharePoint, JIRA, etc.) assuring that it is accurate daily,
* Report KPIs, 
* Prepare and record-keep minutes of the team meetings

 4.      Training:
* Train newcomers with any policy or procedure updates; including performing gap-analysis, documentation collection, KYC assembly in FENERGO, Screening and Investigator,
* Assures and provide training in the different tools and applications currently used by the Madrid KYC Hub when required

5. Communication and Collaboration:
* Work closely with relationship managers, legal teams, and other internal stakeholders to gather necessary valid information and ensure a coordinated understanding and approach to due diligence,
* Communicate due diligence findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams, including senior management,
* Assist the Head of KYC and the KYC Manager/s of the Hub with ad-hoc project

 6.      Continuous Improvement:
* Proactively identify areas for process improvement within the due diligence function and update due diligence processes to ensure they align with evolving regulatory requirements, based on technical expertise and precedents,
* Escalate incidences found on a day-to-day to the corresponding teams and monitor till its resolvent

 7.      Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations governing the financial industry to ensure due diligence processes align with legal requirements,
* Make sure adequate due diligence and controls are performed to know the customers and how they use the Group’s products and services,
* Be vigilant that customer transactions are not related to bribery or corruption. Report any suspicious operation to Senior Management or to local Compliance

ABOUT THE JOB
 
MISSION
The Inspection Générale (IG) is the internal audit function of the group. It carries out audits on all the activities of the Group in France and worldwide, relying either on generalists or specialists auditors, either through central or local teams.

The Iberian Peninsula IG Hub is a team of auditors covering BNP Paribas Group entities operating in Spain and in Portugal, countries where BNP Paribas develops both domestic business activities and large outsourced service centers. The hub intends to develop a practice for auditing IT activities operated in the Iberian Peninsula and from time to time, for supporting other IT audits over the EMEA region.

In this respect, the Iberian Peninsula IG Hub looks for an IT Auditor with a strong IT knowledge and experience in order to participate to IT audit assignments. Knowledge in the fields of Cybersecurity and IT Audit will represent an additional advantage.

The IT Auditor will report directly to the Head of IT Assignment and will be functionally part of the worldwide IT Audit Line.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
n Participate in the audit team assignments and special reviews (when required by regulators, business lines, or senior management):

• Contribute to the planning and preparation of the assignment e.g. understanding the methodology to be applied, acquiring a deep knowledge of the activities to be covered, understanding the detailed technologies, gathering relevant key figures, etc.

•   Develop a thorough understanding of the activities within the scope of the assignment, its strategy and governance, and the related risks.

•    Evaluate the overall setup and identify the main areas of risk (including a comprehensive assessment of the management actions).

• Execute detailed investigations leveraging on a strong technical knowledge in various IT systems (Databases, Operating systems Linux/Windows, Cybersecurity/Network security, Virtualization, containerization, Cloud Computing and related risks).

•  Leverage on adequate programming languages and scripting to perform efficient investigations by automating analysis.

• Ensure the adequate learning and understanding of the standard IT solutions used in the IT infrastructure and production, Cybersecurity management in order to analyze adequately their configuration and be able to identify and raise potential risks.

• Recommend appropriate actions to the management in order to remediate the identified weaknesses.

•   Formalize the results of the assignment investigations and contribute to the production of the assignment deliverables.

• Present the conclusions of the assignment fieldwork to the senior management.

 n Review the implementation of the Inspection Générale IT recommendations:

•  Review and challenge the actions defined to remediate the weaknesses identified by the audit team through its assignments.

•  Ensure the adequacy of the answers to address permanently the gaps following accurately the recommended actions.

•   Perform relevant control testing to ensure the proper implementation of the actions.

 n Contribute to the periodic risk assessment of IT activities and planning:

•   Perform a periodic and comprehensive risk assessment of the IT activities as per the Group guidelines.

De manera temporal por el incremento de los procedimientos judiciales recibidos contra las entidades del grupo hay colaboradores que dan soporte operacional al departamento procesal reuniendo toda la documentación e información necesaria para que los abogados puedan realizar una defensa integral de los procedimientos judiciales con toda la información necesaria.

Asimismo, realizan bajo guías de actuación definidas por el área legal gestiones auxiliares administrativas relacionadas con los procedimientos judiciales y comunicaciones a las diferentes áreas implicadas o impactadas por la recepción de dicho procedimiento.

RESPONSABILIDADES

  • Crear flujos de usuario, mapas de sitio y arquitecturas de información que optimicen la navegación y la interacción, tanto en frontales web como app
  • Desarrollar wireframes y prototipos Lo-Hi Fidelity para conceptualizar y probar distintas soluciones. 
  • Realizar pruebas de usabilidad para identificar problemas y validar soluciones de diseño.

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Position Purpose

  • The team member will ensure the data quality of the reporting towards the elaboration of the Group

Consolidated Financial Statements. She/he will act as a financial controller analyzing and monitoring the information declared by the BNP sites/regions

  • This implies his / her collaboration on supporting the reporting sites/regions for the preparation of the closings, implementing and monitoring transversal controls at global level, investigating complex transactions from financial / reporting perspective, analyzing the data reported by the sites/regions through packages, and synthetizing the results of the controls and the performance through various deliverables
  • At the same time, the team member will be the Subject Matter Expert on a particular Reporting topic (i.e. IFRS 9, IFRS 12, Consolidation Perimeter, KPIs reports, Intercompany etc)

 

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible of supporting the entities/regions in the preparation of the quarterly closings:
    • Developing capacity of the team member on understanding the events/issues raised by the sites/regions that might have an impact in the reporting
    • Advising the reporting sites/regions about the correct presentation / accounting treatments of specific transactions
    • Inform the sites/regions about news on Group norms, standards and reporting evolutions
    • Ensure that the open issues are properly followed-up during the inter-closings as well as support on defining action plans
  • Analysis on all the events with impact on the Group Consolidated Financial Statements
    • Discuss with the reporting sites/regions about particular transactions / operations that have a material impact in the Financial Statements
    • Understand the issues and their implications on the Group Consolidated Financial Statement
    • Identify events that might need an adjustment at consolidated level (i.e. operation wrongly booked in local, elimination of internal results, reclassifications for presentation purposes, etc.)
    • Summarize and synthetize the key events in order to report them to the Team Leader
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME):
    • The team member is responsible for understanding and developing a particular transversal topic related to Financial / Regulatory Reporting
    • The team member is part of Group Finance, the processed under is scope should be updated and harmonized with Group expectations

 

During the closing:

Collection and analysis of the Financial and Regulatory Statements

  • Ask for corrections when the information provided through the packages is not accurate or wrongly reported 
  • Perform an analytical review on the data reported in order to have a global view on the material balances and variations
  • Liaise with the sites/regions to get the necessary economic background and details aiming to understand the material figures and key quarterly / annual variations
  • Coordination between regions and Group / Regulators / Auditors to comply with regulatory or ad-hoc requests

 

As a SME

  • The transversal tasks within a particular role of SME have to respect the deadlines and steps defined by the Group
  • You will be responsible of implementing the controls and / or taking the necessary actions to ensure the achievement of the task/sIndependently of the role of entity coordinator, the SME is responsible of informing the reporting sites/regions about the instructions of the tasks, the results of the controls as well as the actions to be taken over the reporting packages or particular tools / systems

Perform manual accounting entries in the reporting tool (consolidated adjustments) to correct any gap/missing entry/system error impacting the Consolidated Financial Statements of the Group

 

Post closing:

Production of Key Performance Indicators, synthesis and debriefing :

  • Participate on the elaboration of the KPIs that measure the performance of the reporting sites/regions. It implies to summarize and quantify the results from the work performed by the regions, provide an issue log, participate on follow-up meetings and collaborate on defining action plans on open issues
  • Accompany and foster the performance of the production teams by providing assistance
  • Synthetize the key issues encountered during the quarterly closing and report to the Team Leader as well as top management accordingly.

Participation to the Transformation of the Function:

  • Based on the projects and the continuous transformation of the function, the team member will participate on the implementation of the needed action plans / changes that the organization might require
  • Key contributor for any global change management initiative: the team member must be open to changes, diversity and new projects as well as keen to resilience 

Support to the sites / platforms:

  • Due to the continuous changes in the standards, regulations and organization, there might be a need of development for the entities/regions that implies support to the sites / regional platforms.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, IFRS, banking regulation, Group instructions and accounting rules
  • Strong knowledge on IFRS9 about classification and measurement of the financial products, impairment

  • High knowledge on MS Office
  • Excellent Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)

Training and occupational experience

  • Masters on Finance / Audit / Accounting in business school or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of experience, including  significant experience in one of the following business disciplines preferably within a banking company / audit firm: financial or regulatory reporting, audit (internal or external), internal control, financial planning and analysis, financial accounting
  • Advanced level in English, French is a plus
